We are accepting applications for the academic training positions listed below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The OCIL develops and validates non-invasive, high-resolution optical tools for the early detection and management of cancer. Our research includes all aspects of optical imaging and spectroscopy for the <em>in vivo<\/em>, <em>ex vivo<\/em>, and <em>in silica<\/em> evaluation of tissues from different organ sites including lung, cervix, oral cavity, skin and colon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The OCIL is located at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bccrc.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BC Cancer Research Institute<\/a> (BCCRI), between <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfu.ca\">Simon Fraser University<\/a> (SFU) and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ubc.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of British Columbia<\/a> (UBC), in the city of Vancouver, BC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Undergraduate Summer and USRA Students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We have filled the available positions for summer and fall 2026. Check back here next spring for summer 2027!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MASc and PhD Studentships<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Optical Cancer Imaging Lab (OCIL) is accepting rolling applications for graduate students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our research program involves the development of hardware and software tools for <em>in vivo<\/em> (endoscopic) optical coherence tomography (OCT) and autofluorescence imaging (AFI) for the early detection of cancer. We also develop machine learning tools for segmentation, feature extraction, and classification.
