Congratulations to Dr. Jeanie Malone and all the recipients of the 2026 Michael Smith Health Research Trainee Awards.
The awards support postdoctoral fellows and health professional researchers to advance research and build lasting careers in BC.
These emerging researchers are advancing research across the province, with projects ranging from biomedical and clinical research to population health, health systems, health equity, and community-connected research.
Since 2001, the Research Trainee awards have supported more than 1,500 researchers across BC at a pivotal stage of their careers. Their contributions have made significant impacts across health care, policy, industry, and communities.
Dr. Malone’s project is titled “Fallopian Screening for Tubo-Ovarian Cancer: Early Detection with Optical Imaging and Lavage” under the supervision of Dr. Calum MacAulay and Dr. Andrea Neilson.
